I have been a physician since 2009. I am trained and certified in internal medicine, interventional cardiology, structural heart disease, general cardiology, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology. I perform minimally invasive non-surgical interventions for patients with valve problems (i.e. TAVR, mitraclip..), for patients at risk of stroke from atrial fibrillation but who can’t or shouldn’t take a blood thinner (Watchman left atrial appendage exclusion), for patients with heart attack or angina (angioplasty and stenting) and for patients with peripheral arterial disease. I also read or perform echocardiograms for diagnoses of heart conditions and stress tests for diagnosis of heart artery narrowings. I work in a tertiary care, busy academic referral center where some of the most challenging and sick patients are sent to be cared for by myself and my colleagues. I take pride in being very detailed in my history-taking and physical exam, and strive to explain – clearly and candidly – diagnoses and treatment options to patients. I put the patient and his/her wishes and values at the center of my treatment decisions.
